Does anyone have any experience with a leadership training seminar or
training class that they really liked?
It probably depends on what purpose/goal you want the "training" to
achieve. There's "The 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership" by John Maxwell
and "The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People" by Stephen Covey. Both
are books and I believe that both offer seminars. Maxwell addresses the
leadership better than Covey. Covey does help you build a good foundation
that could lead into leadership skills. I've been through an in-house
corporate class for Seven Habits and a classroom study of the 21 Habits
when I was working on my MBA. I do believe that some people find
themselves in leadership roles that no book, seminar, or class can teach
them how to handle. In other cases it could plant some seeds that could
grow given the right circumstances and experience. In other words,
there's a difference between managers and leaders.
