Good News Everybody!

A new search engine is coming soon.

As a stop gap measure, we are using Google's custom search engine service.

Well, it is one of those sort of secret fuzzy numbers but IBM and SAP did
announce the 2,000 iSeries SAP implementation last summer. They went from
1,000 to 2,000 in a 3 year period which technically made OS/400 the fastest
growing operating system........of course, these are small numbers compared
to other platforms.

Couple of things to watch out for - some people will differentiate between
AS/400 and iSeries implementations. We had a research firm tell us that
the AS/400 had less than 100 implementations and the number was reducing.
But we investigated and found out that was for the models they called
AS/400's vs. iSeries........and they owned up to the mistake made by one
individual at their firm....&^%$#@! idiots....... :-) Of course you may see
something different with the i5 implementations also. My guess is that the
2,000 number is generally correct but I would worry about the effects of
acquisitions or the change of platforms etc. SAP goes out of their way to
be as platform agnostic as they can - it is pretty tough to get those
numbers.

As I have said many times the iSeries (especially the i5) makes a kick @&&
SAP server........

Just curious...does IBM or SAP have any numbers of sites running SAP on
iSeries?
