> Mike- >5.) When consolidating windows servers I would not expect to take x number >of external servers and implement them on x - y IXS's. That's what I was thinking when I asked the first question. We have a lot of Win2K servers for application isolation. Five apps with Prod, Test, and Dev installs often means fifteen servers. Installing Prod and Test versions of the same app on the same server can be impossible, not recommended, or irrationally feared. Likewise for installing different apps on the same server. Or there can be some reason why an application vendor wants the application tier isolated from the SQL Server database. I'm sure there are administrative benefits to consolidating to IxS. Workload consolidation, however, is not always practical. James P. Damato Manager - Technical Administration Dollar General Corporation <mailto:jdamato@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>
