If you call CDW and ask for their bandwidth sales department they will do a good job of finding the best deal in your area for T1 or other high-speed. In our case they arranged for Sprint T1 at a price lower than our previous connection which was a 256k frame relay (uggh!). Turned out that the economics of Internet connectivity had shifted dramatically over the years and our service provider never bothered to disclose this until we told them we were leaving. CDW rep did better on price than us doing it ourselves on broadband.com. They and Sprint a lot of the "hand-holding" too (shipped us a preconfig'd router for free) so if you're busy this is a big plus. Our T1 has been rock-sold since we got it about half year ago and the billing works out to where we do not receive a separate "local-loop" bill from out telco (it's still there but we just send the whole payment to Sprint). Deals change with the area you're in which is why you're better off calling CDW and letting them show you how it all shakes out among the top competitors. Don't mean to sound like a billboard for CDW but they did a great job. This is NE Indiana which is > Verizon (The DSL line is provided by Verizon.) I'm using Covad for my 768 SDSL line and have no complaints. Dunno if SBC is available in your area, but if they are ... I highly recommend them. I ordered 1500/256 ADSL service from them and was live in 2 days. Plus, they provide extraordinary online support via the SBC forum on Broadband Reports (http://www.dslreports.com/forum/ilec,am). david _______________________________________________ This is the Non-Technical Discussion about the AS400 / iSeries (Midrange-NonTech) mailing list To post a message email: Midrange-NonTech@xxxxxxxxxxxx To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, visit: http://lists.midrange.com/mailman/listinfo/midrange-nontech or email: Midrange-NonTech-request@xxxxxxxxxxxx Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives at http://archive.midrange.com/midrange-nontech. === [ KI (USA) Corporation - http://www.kiusa.com ] ====================================== Tel. 859.986.1420 -- Fax. 859.986.1485 This e-mail, including any attachments, contains information from KI (USA) Corporation that may be confidential or privileged.
