Yep, And you will be absolutely AMAZED at how well it works (if you get anywhere near the volume of spam I get in a week. I have had this email address for almost 10 years so it's "been around" and with all the "trolling" email address harvester software, etc. I have seen the volume go WAY up in the last year and a half. I am getting well over 100 a day, sometimes twice that much and SpamBayes is catching just about EVERYTHING - unreal. Not bad! -----Original Message----- From: Chuck Lewis [mailto:clewis@xxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Monday, August 11, 2003 10:49 AM To: midrange-nontech Subject: One MOTHER of an anti-Spam product ! Hey folks, Stumbled on this last week (was mentioned in two Computerworld articles in the 8/4/2003 edition :http://www.computerworld.com/softwaretopics/software/groupware/story/0,1080 1,83689,00.html and http://www.computerworld.com/softwaretopics/software/groupware/story/0,10801 ,83684,00.html). I have been putting it through its' paces with absolutely AMAZING results in "filtering" Spam. It is called SpamBayes. The current crop of anti-Spam software relies on the Paul Graham algorithm and it tends to produce a lot of "false-positives" so the folks that wrote this, while acknowledging that was a good approach, thought it could be better; so they came up with SpamBayes which you "train" to. See: http://spambayes.sourceforge.net/ for more information. It is an OpenSource project too ! It is DEFINITELY worth taking a look at. I am using the Outlook Add-In. It does take a bit of work to get it going but it is WELL worth it !
