I named a brand new 170 "Invader" shortly after I heard Dr. Frank tell an audience at a COMMON conference that this was the code name for that model prior to its announcement. He thought it would be a really cool name for a new computer, but the marketing folks quashed the use of that name. Apparently, they felt that "AS/400 eServer Model 170" would play better in Europe than "Invader". :-)) Paul Nelson 630-327-8665 Cell 708-923-7354 Home ----- Original Message ----- From: "Reeve Fritchman" <Reeve@LTL400.com> To: <midrange-nontech@midrange.com> Sent: Sunday, December 08, 2002 11:30 AM Subject: RE: Creative system names.... > "Solomon" (with thanks to a Canadian customer who shall remain nameless to > prevent harvesting). > > -reeve > > > _______________________________________________ > This is the Non-Technical Discussion about the AS400 / iSeries (Midrange-NonTech) mailing list > To post a message email: Midrange-NonTech@midrange.com > To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, > visit: http://lists.midrange.com/cgi-bin/listinfo/midrange-nontech > or email: Midrange-NonTech-request@midrange.com > Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives > at http://archive.midrange.com/midrange-nontech. >
