I disagree ... SpamCop is providing a useful service ... nobody is FORCED to use them for reporting ... and nobody is FORCED to use them for blocking. I happen to use them for both ... it has cut the spam I received by 90% (more or less, I didn't do a statistical analysis). The fact that midrange.com uses them for blocking has actually HELPED people on these lists find out that they had open relays that were being exploited.
But anybody dumb enough to use them is welcome to them.
Well, um... ahem.
PS I receive over 200 spam messages a day, so I understand the problem.
And if you used spamcop's dnsbl or one of the other black lists, that would probably be cut down to 10 or so. david
