Just tried that with my profile and nothing (didn't like it) so I got busy with something else and just noticed THIS on QSYSOPR: User profile CHUCK disabled for AS/400 Support for Windows Network Neighborhood access. Duh. And here is the help text: Additional Message Information Message ID . . . . . . : CPIB682 Severity . . . . . . . : 00 Message type . . . . . : Information Date sent . . . . . . : 09/18/02 Time sent . . . . . . : 11:47:39 Message . . . . : User profile CHUCK disabled for AS/400 Support for Windows Network Neighborhood access. Cause . . . . . : User profile CHUCK exceeded the maximum number of incorrect sign-on attempts when connecting to the AS/400 using AS/400 Support for Windows Network Neighborhood (AS/400 NetServer). This user profile has been disabled for AS/400 NetServer access. The latest failure was received from workstation . Recovery . . . : The user profile will be enabled when one of the following occurs. - The AS/400 NetServer support is restarted. - The user profile is changed. User profiles can be changed using the Change User Profile (CHGUSRPRF) command, the Change Profile (CHGPRF) command, or the Change Password (CHGPWD) command. Technical description . . . . . . . . : A user accessing the AS/400 system using the AS/400 NetServer support exceeded the maximum number of incorrect sign-on attempts specified in the QMAXSIGN system value. So do I just place a 2 next to user profile CHUCK and hit enter ? There is nothing in the profile that I can see that references NetServer and the profile is not disabled... So I tried it as QPGMR and it worked. I'll try again as me and key things in CORRECTLY :-) Thanks, Chuck -----Original Message----- From: midrange-nontech-admin@midrange.com [mailto:midrange-nontech-admin@midrange.com]On Behalf Of Wills, Mike N. Have you tried to directly go to them (\\qas400)? -----Original Message----- From: Chuck Lewis [mailto:clewis@iquest.net] Sent: Wednesday, September 18, 2002 10:54 AM To: Midrange-Nontech Subject: My Network Places and what PC's you can and can't see... Hi Folks, Running Windows 2000 Pro and are connecting to the AS/400 via IP and remote sites are connected via a Frame Relay WAN. When I click on My Network Places I see PC's in this building (our corporate headquarters, and one at a branch 1 hour away (where there is MORE than one computer) and one at a branch that is 2 1/2 hours away (and also has more than 1 computer) and no computers at the other 7 branches OR the AS/400... The only thing I can think of that might be effecting this is the Workgroup name under Identification maybe ? But that only addresses the PC's and not the AS/400. Any ideas ? Thanks !
