But every game, especially "if you consider the computer industry a 'game'", has rules. No cheating allowed. Or if you get caught....Too bad for you... Or at least shame on you, and we don't have to like it.. And you should be taught different. (Many are laughing at the idea of "shame" right now). This situation shows that no amount of government regulation or passing of laws or ruling from above can replace the expectation that others play "fair", and fair means by objective standards. Leif has moral standing to make this assertion (in this arena), based on previous statements he's made like on the double voting issue. __Alan ----- Original Message ----- From: "jt" <jt@ee.net> To: <midrange-nontech@midrange.com> Sent: Thursday, August 29, 2002 1:10 PM Subject: RE: PTF... > The customer IS "caught in the middle of any cat-and-mouse game(s)." > > If You consider the computer industry a "game". > > | -----Original Message----- > | From: midrange-nontech-admin@midrange.com > | [mailto:midrange-nontech-admin@midrange.com]On Behalf Of Leif Svalgaard > | Sent: Thursday, August 29, 2002 12:35 PM > | To: midrange-nontech@midrange.com > | Subject: Re: PTF... > | > | > | From: Douglas Handy <dhandy1@bellsouth.net> > | > >I thought almost ALL new PTFs have that cover letter text. > | > I think they do so that you can not as readily identify which PTF(s) may > | > actually impact programs such as FAST/400. > | > | obviously, but doesn't the customer have the right to know > | the truth about what he puts on his machine?
