Chuck, Even if you aren't using DHCP, my note still applies. BTW, I highly recommend you use DHCP. If you have more than 5 PC's on your network, it makes life so much easier. For the TCPIP "machine" name, go to network connections, properties on your Ethernet, then properties on TCP/IP, then select Advanced button, then the DNS tab. Towards the bottom of this panel, it is the "DNS suffix for this connection". This is the TCPIP "machine name". Also, above this is where you can put your domain name if your DHCP server doesn't allow you to specify.
