What a warm and fuzzy feeling that gives me for IGS. Leif Svalgaard <leif@leif.org To: Midrange List Non-tech <midrange-nontech@midrange.com> > cc: bcc: 02/22/2002 Subject: maximize IGS's profits 03:08 PM Please respond to midrange-nonte ch FROM STEVEN B. PATTON, via e-mail: I enjoyed the comments regarding IBM Global Services' support (or lack thereof) of the iSeries platform but it missed a few key points that might have helped readers better understand IGS's position: <snip> 3. The lack of focus on the iSeries platform was more due to the shortage of iSeries-fluent college graduates than any business strategy. The two IBM groups cited in the article, IGS iSeries Services and the Custom Technology Center, were staffed with experienced iSeries experts from the Rochester plant and lab. In order to maximize IGS's profits, they preferred to staff projects with lower-paid recent college graduates. ===> food for thought.... What a lame (but probably true) excuse.... _______________________________________________ This is the Non-Technical Discussion about the AS400 / iSeries (Midrange-NonTech) mailing list To post a message email: Midrange-NonTech@midrange.com To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, visit: http://lists.midrange.com/cgi-bin/listinfo/midrange-nontech or email: Midrange-NonTech-request@midrange.com Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives at http://archive.midrange.com/midrange-nontech.
