FROM JOE RUTLEDGE, via the Web: How come the article states pricing at $8K and $12K, but the IBM letter indicates $4.8k and $8k for the model 250s? This is a very big difference from an entry standpoint. IBM's RESPONSE, from David Bruce: Our announcement letters don't reprint all of the existing features that are available on a product, only the new or changed features. The announcement letter printed the $4,800 and $8,300 for feature codes 0297 and 0298, respectively. These new codes take the place of the original feature codes 2295 and 2296. The additional element is the price of the Model 250 itself: $3,700. If you add the $3,700 to the other two figures you get the $8,500 and $12,000 that you printed, and that is correct. ===> so, the much touted $4,800 is just for interactive features. It's a CFINT tax!
