While it does look doubtful that anything important will come of the
case, hope remains. Because the nine remaining states have pushed for
further sanctions, the judge must review the case in depth. The last
time that happened, the judge decided to break Microsoft into pieces and
told the DoJ they weren't being hard enough on MS.

We can only hope that a careful review of the facts of this case by a
competent jurist will lead to a better settlement.
