IBM i Access Client Solutions (ACS), the Java-based replacement for the old ClientAccess for Windows, (free to download and use) has a built-in "Data Transfer" capability that supports both Excel (.xlsx and .xls) and Open Database (.ods) files. :-)
It's right there on the main menu when you first launch iACS.
