Like many things it depends on the requirements.I personally keep at least 4 month online for auditing and debugging purposes (for eventual EXPJRNE usage).I've a dead simple daily scheduled RPG that lists the receivers and automatically copy them to a dedicated tape when in detached state tracking all the info in a dedicated file for reference.
