I had a really bad experience with Power 9 and Domino. IBM still owned
Domino at the time and they couldn't get Domino to work on Power 9. Same
release of OS. Only "crit-sit" I've ever opened. Could not get the
resources needed and migrated email to O365 practically instantly. Never
got resolved until the SAP customers were having a serious Power 9 issue.
Turns out they were related.

Yes, you might be, however that does not mean a panic is in order. Not
since the CISC/RISC conversion have I seen an upgrade of hardware cause an
issue with IBM i.

HMC compatibility, Firmware, and if VIOS sometimes issues there, but not
IBM i.

In the end it’s all about checking everything in the technology stack.

I've been through many Power migrations but I do have a question.
LIC PTF's are often processor specific, right? These are the MJ* and
formerly MF* PTFs.
Let's say you have your Power 9 on the most recent cume and TR group
(along
with others). You restore it on a Power 11. Might you be missing some
significant Power 11 specific PTF?
