My Lord, another person that agrees that designing a web page with really wide margins, and lots of wasted space is a good thing.
We as a community are increasingly using smaller screens to view information/data. The IBM inteligencia that determines the designs must all have huge screens to work on with very high resolution. The screens Rob describes are a good example in the HMC, way too much wasted space.

For instance, the icons that show the CAs in the certificate manager are huge, they could be 1/3 the size and still be readable. That size necessitates scrolling up/down/right/left and if you are working from a tablet (or worse a phone) to fix a problem, good luck. My 14 inch MAC is almost too small.

Now if only IBM could generate such a screen and not have their web
