I think that is the point of Populate with CAs. Allows you the choice but will still bring them in if you're up to date with PTFs, etc. I guess an option to do it in command line so you can do it outside of the gui and just schedule it after PTFs would be nice.
Well, I can only speak for me here. I don't need choice at this point. There is a known list of official root CAs, and I see no problem in having an automatically maintained, trusted certificate pool of these. If this is achieved by some OS internal magic, PTFs or whatever… I just don't want to be bothered with it.
But since I'm mostly using ancient and outdated OS releases, I'll shut up and leave this to people who have a better standing for complaints like mine. ;-)
