I think that is the point of Populate with CAs. Allows you the choice but
will still bring them in if you're up to date with PTFs, etc.
I guess an option to do it in command line so you can do it outside of the
gui and just schedule it after PTFs would be nice.

Good point! Taking this thought two steps further: Wasn't the AS/400
famous for needing just a fraction of the nannying 1980's mainframes
required to stay up and running? What has happened to the idea that the
computer is best for automating routine tasks, instead of the flakey human
brain?

I suggest to submit an idea to IBM. Windows, macOS, (Debian) Linux,
Firefox, etc, they all manage to maintain a list of valid, world wide
Certificate Authority root certificates. I presume IBM should be able to
provide the same level of convenience and error prevention in IBM i.
