As I recall, STRISDB was the interactive source debugger and was used for OPM programs only. Eventually or maybe at the start, STRDBG was able to include both.

STRDBG can debug OPM programs if they are compiled with OPTION(*SRCDBG) or OPTION(*LSTDBG).

You also have to use STRDBG OPMSRC(*YES) to debug OPM programs.

STRISDB is still needed for some OPM programs if the compiler doesn't have the SRCDBG or LSTDBG option; for example, CRTS36RPG.
