SDA removal doesn't affect us because we deploy browser user interfaces
exclusively.

But I empathize with the pain for those who rely on green-screen
development for their livelihood. And I admit that I much prefer 5250 over
most, if not all of the GUI tooling that IBM has provided over the years
for developers and system administrators, because the tooling is so overly
engineered, or the interfaces are so tediously slow, or the applications
simply don't work, or the PTFs don't apply properly, or I prefer
server-based interfaces over PC-based applications.

The license-fee revenue from our IBM i applications has been in the
millions, and it appears likely that the same trend will continue for the
foreseeable future, because we're able to provide great user interfaces,
great performance, and great server-based architecture. IBM i on Power
enables us to deploy on a couple servers (1 production and 1 HA backup),
where our competitors require farms of Intel servers, say 25-50 servers,
that require a platoon of system and database administrators, for what we
can do on 2 IBM i servers.
