Hi Dan

I checked, seems symbol, etc., are not monospace fonts - others on the list seem to be, but who knows for sure? I'm not ready to try Wingdings yet!

As to saving on exit, it seems *Always* is the default - it's the setting on what I'm using this moment. I used to set it to *Never* but don't do that anymore.

At least we don't have the APL font to choose from!

*Regards*

I wasn't going to mention it until you did. It's funny to see some of the fonts in that list. Are the symbol, icon, wingding fonts all monospaced?

Thanks to David, I can confirm that changing the font from the Communication menu will force the session to be killed. While doing that from the Edit menu is immediate and doesn't kill the session.

As far as saving the HOD, the Exit Options panel (from Edit, Preferences, Exit...) gives you the option to "Always" save settings on exit. I don't remember ever changing this, so I presume this is the default.

Fonts in the list come from what is installed as monospaced fonts - many are downloadable and are not the standard set for Windows.

So far as I can tell, both ways of seeing the font settings get to the same set of options - the one in Communications will kill the session to make the change permanent, so far as I can tell. To have a temporary or testing setup, use Edit->Preferences->Appearance->Font - if you like what you set it to, I recommend saving the HOD immediately - I don't remember if it will remember you made the change when you close it.
