On the plus side, %time is supposed to retrieve the current system time and
not the job time. Job time can mean a few different things like job start
time vs the time was submitted to the job queue.
The next question is does this line run for each row, or once at the start
of the program?
MY_TIME = %time;

MY_TIME is defined as "T" in the DDS.

How are you getting the time? Exactly what operation code?

I have a job called from the job scheduler at 8:10am each morning. The
job retrieves orders from a web service and parses them into database
files
using an RPG program.
One of the fields in the file is the current time (i.e. the time that the
record is written to the file).

Here's the oddity. Almost all of the records written this morning have a
time LESS THAN 08.10 (the start time).
Only 4 of 43 orders show a time of 08.10 or later. The first record was
written at 08.04.50.

Not a big deal, but my OCD would like an explanation.

TIA,
Greg
