Sorry Roger but I think I didn't explain myself well, English is not my
first language.
I don't consider myself a modern programmer, at least not by choice but
certainly by necessity. What I'm trying to kindly say is that this kind of
discussion on a site like Midrange does nothing but confirm what many say
about the platform. Old and resistant to any form of modernization.

As dedicated developers, I am certain we'd all like to be out there on the
latest release and developing the most modern and useful interfaces for our
customers (I always looked at the users as customers that I provided a
product to). I know I would have loved to move towards a better interface
for our apps before I retired. Reality, however, sometimes has different
plans. So, I did what I could to be "modern" behind the scenes and I feel
that benefitted the users as well. Yes, the users don't "see" that and you
may not get the accolades but, sometimes, the reward comes from within.

But we spent an huge amount of time and money to escape from the green
screen stigma and I get hives when I read these threads.
