Chapter n+1 of NFS MOUNT blues:

I may be wrong but AFAIK, use of QNTC requires that the i be a Windows domain member

Wrong. I tested that just a few hours ago:
- IBM i 7.3 "standalone"
- Windows Server 2022 (file server), part of an AD domain

mkdir '/QNTC/fileserver' (as qsecofr)
wrklnk '/QNTC/fileserver' (with my user profile)

=> Can see the shares and directory structure.

My username and password are equal on IBM i and in Active Directory.

Or that users have the same PW on the i and in the Win domain.

Correct.

which is not the case.

This has to be changed, then.

I do use QNTC to write to some other Windows server's directories by using one pseudo USRPRF that has the same PW on the i and in the Domain.
This is cumbersome since I do it using SBMJOB with USER(that pseudo USRPRF)

Yes, but that's how it's supposed to work. CIFS is a user based file service, not a share based one, like NFS.

:wq! PoC
