Our Net/Windows admin managed to tweak the NFS server on the Windows side to let files be written but all files written to those NFS mounted directories are created locked. We get "Access denied" message when trying to open/copy them.

Did you try to see if files written are closed properly by the generating software on IBM i?

Did the NFS default version change, e. g. from 3 to 4 through the upgrade?
