Greg,
I totally get your train of thought. Especially if you frequently upgrade
OS like me. If 7.5 is the last version to run on Power 9 then it stands to
reason that rNext will be the last version to run on Power 10 but that's
total speculation based solely on the pattern for the last few iterations.

Well it's kind of stupid to force people to upgrade to a power10 when the

I am NOT buying a power10 just to have it EOS in a couple years.

IBM iNext will not run on a Power 9. I know that I advocate going to new
releases quickly and some of you are slower. But you may change your mind
on slow adoption. If IBM sticks to their usual pattern we'll all find out
in 2-3 months.

Gordon... my IBM BP went back to IBM and asked again (he was getting
conflicting messages). He came back late yesterday to confirm that
the 41G is NOT included in the withdrawal of support.

We are going to upgrade to the Power11 hopefully in 2026 (if it is
available) - just not in January.

Thanks Rob this is helpful.
We have a S914 9009-41G and a S924 9009-42G. When I go to the link it
has
S914 9009-41A and S924 9009-42A with EOSS 01-31-2026. When I click on
the IBM Product Lifecycle page and search for 9009, I see the 41A and
42A with the January 2026 date, however the 41G and 42G do not have an
EOSS date.
Is it reasonable to conclude that IBM doesn't have an EOSS date for
them and it potentially may be later the January 2026? The 41G and
42G were GA over 2 years after the 41A & 42A.

I hope this makes sense.

Thanks,

Gordon Searles

Although it was out there, if you knew where to look, IBM just
published the traditional EOS for Power 9 products.
