If I remember correctly, it supports *IPDS (although it may be model dependent.) That would probably be your best bet for the most functionality.

The IBM documentation says it also has a parallel port as standard, and
can hook up to a 3197 terminal, which I know works with a System/36. At a
much earlier job, the 3197 was the Console for the System/36 and it had an
IBM 4019 laser printer hooked to it which printed System/36 output.
