Re: ACS console via HMC

2301 is the new port they use.

Then the connection user/password is not correct, or a communications issue.
You will need to authenticate to the HMC regardless of the method you use.

On the connection properties to the HMC, in the console tab inside ACS
press the "Advanced" button:
In there you can set the user profile, the managed system, and the
partition that you want to sign on to.
You will need one of these connections for each of your fast path

consoles.

(one for each system/partition)

A bit of set up but I think accomplishes your goal.
