A couple of things to keep in mind. First since IBM has announced the subscription model, and outsourced the development of several products to Fortra, they now have two code bases, one perpetual and one subscription. Fortra has already stated it will not support two code bases, so subscription wins. Hence the first of many BR1 vs. BR2 type changes.

I don't expect much if any real change to the perpetual license LPPs going forward. I have no idea where IBM will draw the line between the perpetual and subscription code bases, but the evidence is already starting to show up. In short, clue phone is ringing...... Time to use Barsa's SPENDMONEY command.

All of that said, I've not used the GUI for BRMS since I stopped giving COMMON sessions about BRMS, and only rarely used it prior to that . About the only thing it's useful for is the Enterprise BRMS which can only be set up and managed in the GUI.

BR2 has a GUI. just "read only" & mostly just for show, since you can get all the same info from the BRMS services.

I saw zero reason to not have included the read-only GUI into BR1.

It will probably be a while(years?) till they get anywhere close to what the "old" navigator provided.
