If you can set up a more modern system that can use current sftp then use regular FTP to get it there and send it from that box. More cumbersome and a bit slower but it might work.

The Python idea is also a good one but I doubt you’ll find powerPC ports for a system that old.

client, you might be able to use iSeriesPython to do the SFTP, because
it has its own cryptography libraries and those might include
algorithms that can be used with the server.

I'm no expert, and I don't know your situation that well, but I can
tell you I personally used iSeriesPython (which is free and runs on
V5R3 or later) to set up an automated, recurring SFTP exchange with a
vendor at my previous job, many years ago.
