× The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.

Basically the high level reason for bringing this up is that, while the Fix
Central example for ftps has you using passive and binary you do not need
to bother with them when you use sftp.

Sftp is not FTP and thus does not even *know* about "passive", nor
anything else than binary transparent transfer. "ASCII mode" has never been
implemented in SFTP, which is apparently due to the fact that the
implementors had no exposure to EBCDIC systems, nor were they seeing that
even the two overall most common operating systems Windows and Linux use
different line endings.
