Yep, kids pretty much all learn Scratch in school here in Wisconsin. My son (who is a natural at programming, though he seems more interested in a career doing other things) loved Scratch, I had a hard time convincing him to learn other languages -- but now that he's older and has learned other languages, of course, he's moved on.
I thought it'd be funny to "accidentally" misinterpret Jerry's message to go from Scratch to Python. Obviously, Jerry doesn't need Scratch...

The Irish school system uses Scratch for primary and post-primary students - and there are competitions. And I used it to make a couple videos in one of my presentations at COMMON. Good stuff!
