From the link Vern provided...

However, the actual color support is limited from a customer standpoint.
This color support only allows you to print color text. Color image is not
supported. You cannot print color barcodes, either. HPT has never supported
the printing of Graphics Object Content Architecture (GOCA) objects, so it
follows that printing of color GOCA is not supported.

The other good resource is the "Printing" Redbook...
However the last is from 2002
IBM eServer iSeries Printing VI: Delivering the Output of e-business
https://www.redbooks.ibm.com/abstracts/sg246250.html

There's a slightly newer Redpaper from 2005
IBM eServer iSeries Printing VII: Infoprint Server Implementation
https://www.redbooks.ibm.com/redpapers/pdfs/redp3752.pdf

But I don't think IBM i printing abilities have changed much since then...

I've not ever tried to print color from an IBM i or it's predecessors.

A quick glance through the above suggests to me that your best bet might be
to convert to PDF and send that to a printer that has native PDF printing
functionality; which your Kyocera MA 3005 has apparently.

Charles

Hi Gio

If a printer is not in that list, it still might be something you can use
- already you have with a black&white overlay you are printing there. You
are using an older MFRTYPMDL, *HP4 = maybe try *HPCOLORJ.

But you are saying Host Print Transform *YES - there are limits to what
HPT can do, as documented here -
https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/capabilities-and-limitations-host-print-transform-hpt

This does say that HPT will print certain color components - graphic
images, I believe, you can read it to be sure.

Also, you gave us only the CPF3397 message - that only says that the
writer ended - the message 2nd level text says to look at the job log of
the writer to see why it ended - these final messages themselves are of no
help without the history of what happened before that.

Can you look at the writer job log and give us the messages that it has
before CPF3397?

Vern
