Simply creating the message queue QSYSMSG in QSYS automatically copies
future high importance messages from QSYSOPR to this message queue. For
example you won't get the "job ... completed normally" messages but you
will get "Subsystem QINTER varied off work station... for user..." and
numerous other security and service messages.

I would also peruse the various IBM services you could use to tailor for
things to monitor.
https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/node/1119123
QSYS2.HISTORY_LOG_INFO() can be used to look at messages generated by
service into QHST.
QSYS2.MESSAGE_QUEUE_INFO can be used to look at QSYSMSG, QSYSOPR, etc for
messages.
QSYS2.SYSDISKSTAT can be checked for disks that are failed or degraded
Many messaging packages can analyze the results of these and alert you, if
you are not adverse to the spending a little coin.
A few of these services have the capability to forward stuff on to your
SIEM, if you have one.

Hello all

A network guy went into the lab and noticed 2 amber lights on the Power 8
server.

He called me and I did a WRKPRB and sure enough, there was one.
I tried report the problem but that failed. Another thing to figure out.
Message was CPF8C19 return code 2.

Got ahold of our service provider and he said it's a raid card parity blip.

Contacted IBM for maintenance and waiting for response.

My question is, is there a service that I can check for these sort of
things regularly, like every 10 minutes?
We get lulled into security by the resilience of the Power servers.
