Good idea on the 132 column screen but remember then anyone that uses it
must change the 5250 emulator to 132 character width from the default of
80 as well. While I routinely set that up, many (most?) folks do not.

I need to increase the size of an output field on a screen that is
already full. Was wondering if I could mouseover the field so that it would
show the non-truncated form that is currently shown.

That's not possible with 5250. The client would need to be aware of the
additional text, and the OS would need to provide the additional text
somehow to the client. To accomplish this the screen buffer would no longer
be fixed to what fits on a screen.

Is this kind of functionality available?

No. Hasn't been, will probably never happen because IBM wants us to not
use Green Screen anymore. :-)

Looking for a cheap solution :-)

Redesign your screen so it can accompany the bigger field. Think about
using 27×132, if not done already. That's the cheapest (in terms of effort)
solution you can get.
