I swear someone from IBM is monitoring this list and generating notices. I
just got this email from IBM this afternoon pointing me to a link at

We have received an email stating that the final PTF Groups will be:

* 7.4 - SF99661 level 10
* 7.3 - SF99581 level 16
* 7.2 - SF99481 level 23

"IBM i Group PTFs, IBM i 7.4 - SF99661, IBM i 7.3 - SF99581, & IBM i 7.2 -
SF99481, for IBM WebSphere Application Server v8.5 will no longer be
released effective immediately. The IBM i WebSphere Application Server v8.5
Group PTFs will still be available for download, but will no longer be
released with newer WebSphere Application Server v8.5 fix pack levels..."

Any future updates will need to be done by monitoring for fix packs,
downloading manually from IBM, installing manually afterwards from the IFS.

This just isn't in the cards. I'm trying to plan around a manual process
here. Can we assume that _security_ issues will still be patched in PTF
Groups? We don't host any web instances on the system except for the
standard admin pages. Can we disable WAS altogether, or is that needed?
