Yeah I ran across a post in the past by Rob Berendt to ensure these shipped certs are made avail. I did this steps a while back. Maybe why the other 3rd party API’s worked for me.

No error on this one.., that I can see just returns null values instead of real values (like systools returns)

I know you are still convinced that SSL is not part of the problem but if all else fails check out this page https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/i/7.5?topic=programming-http-functions-overview <https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/i/7.5?topic=programming-http-functions-overview> and in particular the section under SSL Considerations. It explains the differences and provides a script to import all of the Java DCM certs into the *System store. Although a much easier way is to use Jesse's tool - you'll see the reference to my issues in this thread. https://github.com/ThePrez/DCM-tools/issues/32 <https://github.com/ThePrez/DCM-tools/issues/32>

The net is that we had a LOT of examples that would not run under the new stuff for this reason. The Java store includes all the stuff like Amazon and others that the default system store does not have. Once we imported everything from the Java store it all worked again.

Even if it doesn't help you, I'm sure others will trip over this problem in the future and this may help them.

but not really... I have done this also with twillio, usps, and other 3rd

ssltolerate=true is necessary... but certificates are optional. I didn't
have to mess with certs when calling those guys.

so if the systools.httpgetclob works on the https (without certs in play),
then that tells me that the cert is optional.
why doesn't the qsys2.http_post work?

You are using "https://api.mapbox <https://api.mapbox/>..." - note httpS
- there's always certificates involved when you do that.

I seem to recall that when switching from the old Java-based methods to
the new C-based ones we did have to import the certs that were part of the
underlying Java package but not included with the C stuff. Tried to find
the message thread where I got help but can't track it right now.

Thx Neil but there is no cert involved. Even with the systools method.
