I know a PSU failing on these generation of hardware yields SRC 3, so the SRC you observe must be extremely early in the IPL process.

Is there any SRC in-between BBBB and 9? Does it power-down by itself or does it stay powered when showing 9? I think, it's too early for the service processor to spin up disks, yet.

It's been a while since I've seen a 600 from inside. So, not sure if this is applicable. I'd check and probably reseat cables between the main planar and the panel/service processor PCB.

Probably you can find a new home for it, also?
