Just about any command that has to do with TCP will be affected. I don't
think communications would be interrupted, (never thought to try it) but
you WILL need to REAPPLY PTFs. The exception to that rule would be if you
have access to a system that does not have issues, and all the PTFs
applied, you could save the LPP from that system and use it to restore the
LPP to your system. That way all the PTFs would be applied for you
already, avoiding the IPL that would be required to do it.

Is IBM telling you to use installation media, or just reinstall what you
have over the top?

All -

What would be the impact of uninstalling/reinstalling 5770-TC1 (TCP/ip
Connectivity Utilities) while the system is still in use?

We had a problem generated and CHKPRDOPT shows missing objects for
5770-TC1. IBM recommends uninstalling/reinstalling and I'd like to do it
during the day.

We know that SMTP/POP is impacted - what other apps would be affected?
