I'm in the same camp as Vern. Going back a bit farther, I relate modules and service programs to how we did things in the DOS days with .lib files and linking. That would be analogous to a bound RPGLE object in the end. All necessary "external" code is embedded in the final executable.

Vernon
The procedures are the same as the methods, they have an encapsulated logic
that performs a certain function, A procedure (GETTER) is any procedure
that allows to retrieve data from a table, either via language (Java, PHP,
Python, Cobol or RPGile, Free Rpg , Full Free) or SQL Instruction, A
Procedure (SETTER) is also any procedure that allows inserting data into a
table, either via language (Java, PHP, Python, Cobol or RPGile, Free Rpg,
Full Free) or SQL Instruction, You must remember that a Method can receive
parameters and return parameters, just like a procedure or service program,
Inheritance applies to any structure (DS, Array, Registry) that uses a
Definition of an external table, The ILE environment being safe,
conceptually it is an object-oriented program, This is my opinion after
having programmed in Java Simple Inheritance and Python with Multiple
inheritance

Hi Sergio

You and I have different definitions of "Object Oriented", although I
believe we agree that we can use OO concepts in the design of our
applications. OO languages like Java and C++ help you use OO ways of
working - you can "create" objects using service programs, but you have to
manage the structural stuff, the attributes, the methods (getters, setters,
etc.) You don't have qualified methods in service programs, right? Service
programs are very like DLLs in Windows, like .o files, perhaps, in C/C++ -
and those are not "Object Oriented" files.

The versions prior to the ILE environment, are not Object Oriented, but
from the ILE environment,
we have Object Orientation, when using Procedure, Service Programs and
Modules
