RPG has good features that replace the need for objects. Transactions
processing is better done with a language oriented to transactions
processing rather than an object oriented language.

For some jobs OO is great, but not for everything.

seems to be less favored, lately. They speculate that OO promised too much
when it was new in the 1990s, while probably not holding up to those
promises. I'm not enough of a programmer to understand and evaluate the
details, though.
