For those delivering directly from IBM i to the google and friends, see this handy APAR:

https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/apar/SE78607

PTFs there for 7.3, 4, and 5. Not on a CUME or other groups at this time.

Message that is coming back from gmail and other hosted email at google is

"550-5.7.1 x.x.x.x Messages missing a valid messageId
header"

The very odd part is that even without this PTF, some systems don't see the error. Seems (no proof) that if you're still routing through MSF then the problem doesn't occur. But if sending directly through SMTP (clearly preferred) then it fails.

What I would be VERY interested to know is if BVSTools would or wouldn't affect this issue. My gut says no, but I have no where to test that.

Rich,
Generally that is going to have issues. You should forward it through something. We use O365 here. We also use an external service here from Citrix to scan for spam, etc so I route it through that. You might have to check with your network person.
