If the keys work, they work. If not, reinstalling every 70 days is a
great way to get an exerciuse as sysadmin.

If you want to get rid of it, I'm sure there are hobbyists that would
love to take it - I help run a hobbyist group.

So, what you're saying is because its a dev system from IBM i, my
choices
are thermite or thermite.  :)  I was hoping to find someone local

want to try learning the system.  But, oh well.. rules are rules.

It also makes me wonder if I shouldn't have been able to transfer the
licenses from the 515 to my current 41A, which is also a dev system
instead
of purchasing all new.

If it is upgraded within the same enterprise then all the IBM i
licenses, users, and all LPPs can be transferred to another machine
(new
or used) for a fee.

If it is sold to a different enterprise, then only the IBM i
licenses
and users go with it. Any LPPs stay with the original enterprise.

moves.
*EXCEPTION2: If the machine is a CBU then nothing moves.

Hope that helps!

I don't want the thing but I have a question related to it.

When a machine can't be upgraded to a version of the OS that is
still
supported (maxed out at 6.1 for example), how does licensing
work?  Can
all
of the compiler licenses, etc. be given away with it or can you
only give
away the OS and that is all and in that case, what good is it?
