Yep. I’ve heard of the email txt delays as well. I just did a quick test to my phone number (T-Mobile) using email and it was instant.

I’m developing an cloud application developed on strictly ibm i sqlrpgle with .net core mvc as my front end. Db2 as the database. Everything http webservices.
I’m considering not even using the traditional user/password registration.
Only a phone number and email.
And will require two factor auth to log in. Just don’t want to maintain user/passwords.

As I recall, there were differences in the service delivery time and reliability with emailing texts versus direct send. Just a vague recollection but it seemed like using Twilio's service was a much better option than email. We were already using GoAnywhere for email and MFT so getting texting up and running would have been a no-brainer.

I’m thinking the cheapest route is to use Twilios’s carrier lookup API and send myself with email.

Anyone have any advice in this area from personal experience
