Any idea how this will affect the _MATMATR1 API? It's what I used to get
the logical serial, serial number.

IBM recently introduced virtual serial #’s. Each LPAR can be assigned a
virtual serial # which is different than the physical server serial #.

All IBM I systems will have a serial number.

I have a customer inquiring how licensing will work on a cloud system that
they claim may move from VM to VM and they don't have serial numbers.

Is this the case? For example, can some systems not have logical serial
