Ok, you run a parallel save and it spreads it out on multiple volumes. You look at your VTL statistics and you see multiple volumes loaded and writing away. All good.
VTL has now been configured with multiple libraries. One is your current LTO5 and the other LTO7. Shouldn't really matter but, hey, who knows when IBM will drop LTO5 support so we might as well stay current. Besides we have to duplicate this in order to purge out some sequences within the save we're going scorched earth on. So it seems like a good time to do this.

So I'm running this now:
DUPMEDBRM VOL(*LIST) FROMDEV(KDVLVTL) TODEV(USSI7VTL)
FROMVOL(G00384 G00398 G00399 G00400 G00401) FROMENDOPT(*UNLOAD)
TOVOL(I70056 I70057 I70058 I70059 I70060) EXPDATE(*FROMVOL)
MEDCLS(ULTRIUM7) SAVMEDINF(*OBJ)
I check the VTL and it only has one from tape loaded and one to tape loaded.
Why is this? Is it trying to combine these down to reduce the number of tapes used?
