subject: RE: FTP woes
Desktop or laptop?
If laptop go out to lunch at the city park away from any wifi. Turn on
Mobile Hotspot on your cell phone. Now connect your laptop to your cell
phone's wifi. Try it there.
There's a few websites I have to resolve this way. Like, checking the
certs at our vpn gateways which are blocked to internal users.
Do not try this trick inside your place of employment. They may have a
cell phone repeater and your cell phone could be using data from that
instead of totally bypassing the firewalls.
We have a big parking lot that's mostly empty as the former occupants of
this building produced for the defense industry during the cold war. So I
can go park way out by the walking trail.
