I just now did.
I should enter just ps -f
I see exactly what you're talking about
$ ps -f
UID PID PPID C STIME TTY TIME CMD
rob45678 2387 2385 0 09:47:13 pts/0 0:00 -bsh
Research shows that some flavors of this will replace the 8 with a plus sign to signify this.
