Excel changes "1/4" into "4-Jan". Very large numbers get converted to
scientific notation with a permanent loss of precision.

Those are the two I encounter most often. That being said, the convenience
of Excel makes my go-to choice. I use other tools only when I have to.

Hmm... I've not seen this before. I don't use CSVs a lot, but when I
double click them Excel (from Office 365) seems to open them just fine.
